01 / DESIGN POSSIBILITIES

MORE THAN
ONE KIND OF AWARD.

A person. A character. A symbol. A sculptural expression of what your achievement means.

Illustrative resin design concepts, not completed client projects or ready-stock items. Shape, mould construction and finish are developed and sampled for each brief.

02 / THE STARTING POINT

FROM THE MASTER
TO THE MOULD.

A custom master defines the form. The selected resin and moulding route reproduce it for finishing and assembly.

Illustrative Resin Casting raw material and preparation study

Illustrative material study. Materials are specified for the project.

THE MASTERReview the proportions and detail.

THE MOULDPlan how the form will release.

THE CASTINGPrepare the surface before finishing.

03 / COLOUR & SURFACE

ONE FORM.
THREE EXPRESSIONS.

Gold-colour, silver-colour and painted-black concept finishes on the same sculptural form.

Illustrative Resin Casting colour and surface finish comparison

Illustrative finish directions, not calibrated colour samples. Confirm the physical sample before production.

Gold colour

Discuss a gold-colour plated finish with the required resin and surface preparation.

04 / FROM IDEA TO OBJECT

CAST. PREPARE.
FINISH.

Mould seams and surface imperfections are addressed before decorative finishing. The prototype sets the direction.

What do we check before production?

Deep undercutsReview how the part releases from its mould; use a split mould or separate components where appropriate.

Long, thin projecting featuresThicken vulnerable sections, change the pose or support the feature through the overall design.

A mirror finish over rough castingResolve seams and surface imperfections before decorative finishing.

05 / THE COMPLETE PRESENTATION

THE AWARD.
ITS OWN BOX.

A fitted presentation concept for the flame design shown in the finish study above. The sculpture’s contours and base guide the interior.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Does a custom shape need a mould?

For a newly cast resin design, a master and mould normally form part of development. Existing tooling and a direct 3D-printing route may be alternatives, depending on the project.

Can you produce gold and silver versions?

Gold-colour and silver-colour electroplated finishes can be discussed for the project. The resin, preparation and final finish are confirmed through sampling.

Will every detail in a drawing work in production?

Some details need adjustment for strength, mould release, assembly and finishing. We review the design before committing it to production.

What shapes the quote?

A unique form usually involves master and mould costs. Quantity, dimensions, detail, mould complexity, surface preparation and finishing determine the overall quote.
